Foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong are fully protected by the laws of Hong Kong, Chief Executive CY Leung says.
Speaking to the media before an Executive Council meeting today, Mr Leung said Hong Kong is a law-abiding society and offenses of bodily harm against the person in particular will not be tolerated.
Mr Leung said Police have arrested a suspect in the case, and said all cases will be handled according to the rule of law. All reports of maids being mistreated will be taken seriously, he added.
