The Centre for Health Protection is monitoring 12 additional cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in Korea.
Six are patients in hospitals that had confirmed MERS cases, one is an ambulance driver who had transported another confirmed case, and five cases are under investigation.
To date, Korea has 137 confirmed MERS cases, and another case was exported from Korea to Mainland China.
The centre urges people to pay special attention to their safety when travelling, and to consider the health risks of the places they plan to visit.
The centre is in close communication with the World Health Organisation and Korea’s health authority.
