The Centre for Health Protection confirmed this morning the outstanding test result of a suspected case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome was negative for the virus.
The centre yesterday reported 34 suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases, of which 33 were negative for the virus.
No confirmed case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome has been identified in Hong Kong.
In view of the latest situation in Korea, the centre urges people to avoid unnecessary travel to the country and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
