The Centre for Health Protection recorded 33 suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases from noon yesterday to noon today.
Among these cases, 17 tested negative for the MERS virus in preliminary testing, while test results for the remainder are pending.
Five suspected cases recorded yesterday also tested negative for the virus.
In view of the latest situation in Korea, the centre urged people to avoid unnecessary travel to the country and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
