The Centre of Health Protection has recorded 19 suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome cases since the Serious Response Level was activated yesterday.
The cases involve six men and 13 women, aged two to 63. They are all in stable condition.
Fourteen tested negative for the MERS virus in the preliminary testing. Test results for the remainder are pending.
The centre will provide a daily update on the number of suspected cases recorded from today.
Meanwhile, all 19 close contacts in Hong Kong of a patient who went from Korea to China remain asymptomatic and have completed they stay in quarantine.
The centre urged people to avoid unnecessary travel to Korea, and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
