395 tickets issued in traffic-day blitz

Police officers issued a total of 395 fixed-penalty tickets and 59 summonses to people violating traffic regulations during a road-safety blitz.

 

Up to 7pm today, 199 officers were sent to traffic black sites in region. They issued 251 fixed-penalty tickets for parking offences.

 

They cautioned 55 pedestrians and 104 drivers for minor traffic offences.

 

A total of 248 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred on Hong Kong Island in January this year. Of them, 57.3% were attributed to pedestrians' negligence.
