Hong Kong Police

Police have issued 184 summonses and 31 verbal warnings to minibus passengers for seat belt offences in a city-wide crackdown.

In the 24-hour blitz that began at midnight on December 11, officers also issued two verbal warnings, one summons and one fixed-penalty ticket to unbuckled minibus drivers.

In the first 10 months of this year, there were 852 traffic accidents involving minibuses, resulting in 1,376 casualties, compared with 941 traffic accidents and 1,593 injuries in the same period last year.
