36 arrested for illegal soccer gambling

Hong Kong Police

Hong Kong Police participated in a cross-regions anti-soccer gambling operation instigated by Interpol between October 24 and November 18.

 

Police arrested 36 people in 32 raids, and seized three illegal soccer bookmaking servers and betting slips worth about $31.5 million.

 

They also arrested 19 people related to seven horseracing cases and an illegal gambling case. Betting slips worth $33 million were seized.

 

Intelligence was provided to law-enforcement agencies of the participating countries about illegal soccer gambling activities in the countries.
