3 arrested in illicit cigarette seizures

*
Customs & Excise Department

Customs officers have arrested three men, seizing 1.36 million illicit cigarettes worth $2.03 million from a mobile distribution centre in Fanling and a cross-boundary lorry. The cigarettes have a duty potential of $1.09 million.

Officers shut down the illicit cigarette distribution centre yesterday and later stopped the lorry at Lok Ma Chau Control Point and found it containing the contraband cigarettes.

Officers arrested the three local men, aged 38 to 41, and seized the lorry and a van.
