Police complaints council gets 2 new faces
*

Two new members, Emily Cheung and Clement Tao, have been appointed to the Independent Police Complaints Council and incumbent members Helena Yuen and Dr Michael Tsui have been reappointed.

All appointments are for two years, from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009.

The Security Bureau today thanked the two outgoing members Daniel Cham and Dr Charles Koo for their valuable contribution to the council over the years.

The council, currently chaired by Ronny Wong, is an independent civilian body tasked with monitoring and reviewing the investigation of complaints against the Police. The bureau said it plays an important role in ensuring public confidence in the Police complaints system.
