Taxi driver arrested for drink-driving fatality

Hong Kong Police

Police have arrested a 48-year-old taxi driver for drink driving after an accident in which his colleague was killed and another injured.

 

A 56-year-old taxi driver standing outside his vehicle parked on Hiu Kwong Street, Sau Mau Ping, was struck by the man's taxi about 4.40am today. The parked taxi was pushed forward and struck another driver, aged 51, standing in front.

 

They sustained leg injuries and were taken to United Christian Hospital where the 56-year-old died at 10am.

 

The drink-driver was arrested and released on bail.

 

Witnesses should call Police on 2305 7500 or 2305 7570.
