3 arrested for container theft
*
Hong Kong Police

Three men have been arrested for stealing containers of scrap metal from a Sham Shui Po depot.

A company told Police on April 2 that 10 of its containers stored in the Hang Wah Street West depot had gone missing. Officers found that several truck drivers had collected the containers, worth about $7 million, on April 1 with release orders bearing a forged company stamp and counterfeit documents.

The three men, aged 38 to 47, were arrested in Cheung Sha Wan and Pat Heung on April 11 and 12, and stolen computer waste was located in Kam Tin, Pat Heung. Two of the suspects will be charged with theft and appear in Kowloon City Magistracy tomorrow.

Logistics and transportation industries are reminded to watch for suspicious orders or assignments. They should report any suspicious cases to Police.
