Faulty fuel dispenser lands pair in court
*
Customs & Excise Department

An oil company possessing a defective fuel dispenser and the dispenser's supplier have received summonses.

The Customs & Excise Department said the company and the supplier have breached Weights & Measures Ordinance. The case will be heard at Tuen Mun Magistracy on May 18.

On January 8, Customs officers conducted checks on 24 fuel dispensers at a Tuen Mun fuel station. One of them over-recorded the volume of fuel supplied to customers by 5%.

The equipment at the fuel station, including fuel dispensers, were owned by the oil company. The supplier installed the  dispenser in question for the company last October and was responsible for periodic calibration.
