dual-facing counter unidirectional application
People movers: The Lok Ma Chau control point will activate the dual-facing counter one-way application mode during the National Day and Mid-Autumn festive period.

A total of 429,147 incoming passengers passed through land, sea and air control points on October 2, with a higher number of arrivals via Lo Wu than expected, the Immigration Department says.

Lo Wu recorded 207,294 arrivals yesterday, higher than the expected peak of 180,000 people. About 23.6% of the arrivals used the Lok Ma Chau check point and 10.7% the airport.

Yesterday saw 217,046 outgoing passengers, with 46% departing through Lo Wu, 22.4% through Lo Ma Chau and 14% through the airport.

Since September 29, there were 1,299,714 arrivals and 1,210,816 departures. Among the arrivals, 47.1% used the Lo Wu check point, 24.6% used the Lok Ma Chau check point and 11.9% used the airport.

For the departures, the figures for Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and the airport were 48.1%, 21.9% and 13.5%.

The department expects about 5.67 million people will pass through control points during the National Day and Mid-Autumn festive period, with about 4.21 million travelling by land.
