The Transport Department says the provision of a designated loading and unloading area for vans at the airport will be implemented as soon as possible to ensure smooth traffic flow.

The department's representatives, together with officers from the Environment, Transport & Works Bureau and the Police, met lawmaker Leung Yiu-chung and van trade representatives today.

The department said the measure will enhance deployment of resources by the Police to curb illegal transport activities.
