Customs seize 45kg of cannabis, arrest 2 women
*
Customs & Excise Department

Customs have netted the largest cannabis haul in a transnational drug-trafficking case this year at the Hong Kong International Airport, seizing  45 kilograms of suspected marijuana valued at about $3 million from two South African women.

At 8.40am on August 29,  officers stopped a 32-year-old South African woman arriving from Johannesburg at the arrival hall and found 25 kilograms of suspected marijuana in her luggage.

The officers yesterday stopped another South African woman, 37, arriving from Johannesburg and seized 20 kilograms of suspected marijuana from her luggage.

Customs officers suspect the two cases are related.
