UN sanctions regulation gazetted
*

The United Nations Sanctions (Liberia) Regulation 2005 (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulation 2006 has been gazetted, to implement sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council under Resolutions 1683 and 1689.

The regulation renews the sanction against the importation of rough diamonds from Liberia to Hong Kong, and relaxes the restrictions on supplies of arms and related materials to the Liberian police and security forces as approved in advance by the UN.

The provisions in the amendment regulation will expire at midnight on December 19. Click here to see the regulation.
