Swimming pool drug runners jailed
*
Hong Kong Police

Two men, aged 36 and 28, have been jailed six years for drug trafficking by the Court of First Instance.

In September undercover Police were deployed to negotiate with the 36-year-old defendant, believed to be a local drug supplier. On October 6 an officer met him at a Yau Ma Tei hotel for a transaction in which marked money was given in return for a Kowloon Park Swimming Pool locker key.

Another officer went to the locker, which was guarded by the 28-year-old defendant. The men were arrested and more than 10,000 ecstasy tablets were found inside the locker, worth $830,000.

They pleaded guilty at Eastern Magistracy on March 24 and the sentences were meted out today.
