*
Hong Kong Police

Police are appealing for information on an incident in which a car drove off the old Kai Tak Airport runway into the harbour, killing the 37-year-old woman driver.

The vehicle was heading towards the golf driving range at the end of the runway when the incident occurred just before midday today.

The driver was trapped inside the compartment, while her 52-year-old woman passenger was able to escape. They were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where the driver was certified dead at 12.45pm.

Anyone who saw the incident should call Police on 2305 7575 or 2305 7500.
