SHA cheers for SAR athletes at the National Games

Full support: Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Betty Fung and Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing stand behind the Hong Kong flag and the city's swimming team at the National Games in Jinan.

Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing praised the performance of Hong Kong athletes competing at the 11th National Games in Jinan, Shandong, today. He was accompanied by Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Betty Fung.

They watched Hong Kong cyclists compete in the women's 500m time trial and the men's track race, before attending the swimming competitions.

Mr Tsang said Hong Kong's athletes had harnessed their potential for excellence and he encouraged them to keep up their efforts. He said they should gain experience from such a large-scale competition to achieve good results in the East Asian Games in December.

Mr Tsang and Mrs Fung also toured an exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China at the Jinan International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
