Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection urges people to maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease after an outbreak involving 11 boys and nine girls at a Kwun Tong kindergarten cum childcare centre.

The children, aged two to five, have come down with oral ulcers, a fever and a rash on their hands and feet since September 26. Sixteen sought medical attention. All are stable.

One child tested positive for Coxsackie virus A.

The institution has been put under medical surveillance.
