*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an upper respiratory tract infection outbreak, involving 21 people, in an elderly home in Eastern District.

The patients are 18 residents and three staff members -seven men and 14 women aged 25 to 96. They developed symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose and sore throat between November 15 and December 7.

Eighteen of them consulted doctors or visited out-patient clinics and three others were admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. One has been discharged. They are all in stable condition.
