Ethnic minority fund forum set for Dec 10

*

The Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Bureau invites non-governmental organisations to attend a December 10 briefing to facilitate their preparation of funding applications to establish and operate ethnic minority support service centres.

The briefing will be held at Central Library at 10.30am.

To strengthen support services for ethnic minorities, the Government has earmarked $16 million for the annual operating costs of four centres and an additional $8 million to subsidise their start-up costs. The deadline for application is January 12.

The scheme's objective is to provide help ethnic minorities access public services and facilitate their integration into the community. Two centres will be in the New Territories, one in Kowloon and one on Hong Kong Island.
