The Centre for Food Safety has detected an ice cream bar with melamine in it. The importer will recall the products.

The contamination was found during its recent test of 27 dairy products.

The Natural Choice yoghurt flavoured ice bar with real fruit (90ml net volume) is manufactured by Shanghai Yili AB Foods.

The level of melamine found would not pose major health effects from normal consumption of the bar, however, small children should not eat it.

The centre said the bar might have been contaminated by utensils during the production process.
