Health voucher enrollment to start
*
Centre for Health Protection

Private healthcare service providers interested in participating in the Health Care Voucher Scheme are invited to enroll with the Department of Health from September 30.

The scheme will be implemented on a trial basis from 2009 to 2011 to partially subsidise the elderly for using private primary care services.

People aged 70 or above with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card or a valid certificate of exemption will be given five health care vouchers worth $50 each annually. They can be used for services provided by registered Chinese medicine and general practitioners, dentists, chiropractors, registered and enrolled nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, radiographers and medical laboratory technologists.

Participating service providers will receive reimbursement from the Government on a monthly basis. They are required to display the designated logo at their workplaces for identification.
