Two Central post offices - Garden Road Post Office, G/F Cheung Kong Centre, 2 Queen's Road, and Harbour Building Post Office, 1/F Harbour Building Government Offices, 38 Pier Road - will cease operation after the close of business October 31.

Hongkong Post said they will close due to their low utilisation which has incurred heavy losses, and the availability of other post offices in the vicinity.

Nearby post offices are the General Post Office, 2 Connaught Place; Queen's Road Post Office, Shops 2A & 2B, Entrance Hall Floor, The Centre, 99 Queen's Road; Sheung Wan Post Office, 1/F Hong Kong Telecom CSL Tower, 322-324 Des Voeux Road; and, Wyndham Street Post Office, G/F, Hoseiness House, 69 Wyndham Street.
