Three male patients, aged 37 to 59, of a Kwai Chung Hospital ward have developed skin abscesses since February 4. They have tested positive for Streptococcus pyogenes.
The patients are being treated in isolation and are in stable condition. The hospital will monitor their condition. All other patients in the ward are under surveillance.
No visits to the ward are allowed and thorough disinfection has been conducted.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up action.
