14 travellers ill with gastroenteritis
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an acute gastroenteritis case involving 14 people who travelled to Egypt February 16 to 25.

Five men and nine women aged seven to 76 came down with diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and abdominal pain during their trip. They travelled on a cruise ship February 20 to 23 and consumed meals on board. Eight sought medical treatment but none required hospitalisation. All are stable.

Tips on preventing gastroenteritis are available here, or call the Central Health Education Unit hotline 2833 0111.
