Seven patients and two staff at a ward in the Kowloon Hospital Rehabilitation Building have come down with gastroenteritis symptoms and fever.

The patients, all women aged 50 to 96, are being treated in isolation and are in stable condition. The two staff have taken sick leave.

There will be no admission to or discharge from the ward until further notice. Infection control measures have been enhanced and visits to the isolated cubicle have been suspended.

Tests are being conducted and the case has been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
