8 new hospital gastroenteritis cases
*

Five more patients and three staff have come down with gastroenteritis symptoms and fever, bringing the total infected at a ward in the Kowloon Hospital Rehabilitation Building to 21.

The women patients, aged 51 to 90, are being treated in isolation and are stable. The three staff have taken sick leave.

Seven of the initial batch of 11 patients have tested positive for norovirus. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance. There will be no admission to or discharge from the ward until further notice. Infection control measures have been enhanced. The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
