No new SARS cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, marking the third consecutive day of zero infections in Hong Kong. It is also the 30th day running the number of cases have been below five since May 16.

 

The number of recovered and discharged patients continues to rise to 1,382. Of them, two were discharged today.

 

There are 53 cases being treated in hospitals. Most of the patients are responding positively to the treatment protocol. In addition, 26 are recovering patients in convalescence and preparing for discharge. Sixteen are in intensive care.

 

A 69-year-old woman, with a history of chronic disease, died in Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, bringing to 294 the total number of SARS deaths.

 

There are 1,262 people from 493 households under home confinement.
