Shenzhen river monitored after pollutants spill

*
Environmental Protection Department

Environmental Protection Department staff have inspected the Shenzhen River after the Guangdong Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau notified it of an accidental discharge of pollutants from a landfill into the Puji River, which flows into the Shenzhen River.

The staff did not find any floating scum, suspended matter or odour in the river. They took water samples for tests.

The department will monitor the situation and, if necessary, take appropriate actions in conjunction with other departments such as the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department.
