The Hong Kong Observatory has won two silver and two bronze awards in the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008.

Its Location-Specific Lightning Alert Service and Airport Thunderstorm & Lightning Alerting System came second in the Best Lifestyle Award (Home Life & Healthy Living), and the Best Public Service Application (Small Scale Project) Award.

The Weather Wizard and the weather service for the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events won bronze awards in the Best Public Service Application (Most Favoured) Award, and the Best Public Service Application (Small Scale Project) Award.
