Donald Tsang to attend APEC meeting
*

Chief Executive Donald Tsang will visit the UK from November 18 to 20, and attend the 16th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Peru from November 21 to 23.

In London, Mr Tsang will meet British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the UK's Financial Services Authority Chairman Adair Turner, to exchange views on the financial tsunami.

He will also brief other business and political leaders, academics and the British media on Hong Kong's latest developments.

Mr Tsang will officiate at the Trade Development Council's annual dinner, and at a tourism promotion event organised by the Tourism Board.

The Chief Executive will leave for Peru on the afternoon of November 20. He will speak at the APEC CEO Summit, on the subject of strengthening global free trade and investment.

A major subject of discussion at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting this year will be the current financial crisis and APEC's response to it. Economic leaders will deliberate on a wide range of issues including WTO trade negotiations, climate change and sustainable economic growth.
