Q3 credit-card receivables up 0.8%

Total card receivables rose 0.8% or $600 million in the third quarter, the Monetary Authority says. The total number of credit-card accounts also grew 1%.

 

The authority's survey on credit-card lending showed the transfer of rescheduled receivables outside the surveyed institutions' credit card portfolios dropped to $144 million.

 

The rollover amount, which reflects the amount of borrowing by customers using their credit cards, rose to $23.9 billion, from $23.7 billion in the previous quarter.

 

The charge-off amount fell to $505 million while the quarterly annualised charge-off ratio dropped to 2.74%.

 

The delinquent amount dropped to $227 million at the end of September and the delinquency ratio declined to a record low of 0.31%. The combined delinquent and rescheduled ratio also fell to a record low of 0.38%.
