Construction safety award scheme opens

Labour Department

The Labour Department is inviting entries for the Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2007-08 from tomorrow. All contractors, sub-contractors and site personnel can join provided they have had no serious accidents or have received any suspension notices in the last six months.

 

The three main categories are Construction Sites, Safety Teams and Safe Workers, plus a new category this year the Safety Slogan competition.

 

Despite the marked improvement construction industry safety in recent years, the department is holding the competition to further enhance safety awareness among industry contractors and workers.
