Police today arrested 80 people while helping bailiffs execute a court order to remove barriers on Argyle Street between the junction of Tung Choi and Portland Streets.
Briefing the media this evening, Police Public Relations Branch Senior Superintendent Kong Man-keung said some people obstructed bailiffs executing the court injunction on Argyle Street and violently charged Police officers.
Police arrested 18 men and five women.
Some protesters then unlawfully assembled on Portland Street, blocking the road and violently charging at Police.
Mr Kong said Police took resolute enforcement action. As at 8pm, 57 more men were arrested.
Three Police officers were injured.
He urged protesters to stay calm and leave the scene immediately, and called on the public to avoid the Mong Kok protest sites.
