The Government today issued the Red Outbound Travel Alert for Korea due to the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak in the country.
It advises people to avoid non-essential travel to Korea. Those already there should heed announcements by local authorities and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities.
The Government said it will closely monitor the situation and issue updates through the media, the Department of Health’s webpage and the Security Bureau's Outbound Travel Alert page.
Hong Kong residents in Korea who need assistance can call the Immigration Department hotline (852)1868 or contact the Chinese Embassy on (82)10-97249110.
Travellers can register their contact details and itinerary for the Outbound Travel Information service when outside Hong Kong, to receive advice.
