The Government is issuing the Red Outbound Travel Alert for Korea in response to the country's Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak, Acting Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced today.
Speaking ahead of an Executive Council meeting this morning, Mrs Lam urged people to avoid non-essential travel to Korea and monitor the Government's health information on the disease.
She noted that there are frequent exchanges between the two places, with several flights arriving from Korea and many Hong Kong tourists flying to the country daily.
Mrs Lam added that the travel alert would help the industry better handle the situation.
