Chief Secretary Carrie Lam says the Government is preparing to form the commission of inquiry into the lead-tainted water issue.
Speaking to media today, Mrs Lam said the commission will comprise a chairman and a member.
She has sought the Chief Justice's help in finding a judge for the chairman post, and she herself is looking for a suitable candidate for the member post.
Noting the heavy workload of the commission, Mrs Lam excepted that it will take at least six months to finish the inquiry.
She said it will not be easy to find a credible and experienced person for the job, yet she is confident that the membership of the commission can be fixed soon.
