Police have been removing obstacles at the Admiralty protest site to re-open roads, and the operation has been running smoothly so far.
In a statement issued this evening, the Government said the illegal occupation has dealt a severe blow to Hong Kong's economy, politics, society and people's livelihood.
The Police’s action today has been professional and restrained in restoring public order and protecting citizens' right to use public roads, it said, thanking the officers for their hard work and urging occupiers to respect the rule of law and not reoccupy streets.
It said people should abide by the law when expressing their views. Illegal actions should not and cannot be accepted by society, and the Government will deal with them in accordance with the law, it added.
