Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen has urged students and protesters to retreat from the occupied areas.
Responding to reporters today, Mr Yuen said the occupation movement has been affecting the daily lives of Hong Kong people, who generally agree it must end.
He added that he doesn’t want to see people injured when Police clear the protest sites.
Mr Yuen also stressed that there is no room to restart the reform process, as some students have suggested.
The practical solution is to reach a reform proposal in the next round of public consultation which will be accepted by most Hong Kong people, he said.
