Chief Secretary Carrie Lam has expressed concern for the health of the students on hunger strike.
The students started fasting to pressure the Government into a dialogue on constitutional reform. Mrs Lam today urged them to take care of their health, while reiterating that any reforms must comply with the Basic Law.
She added that the administration is ready to launch the next round of public consultation on constitutional reform and the students were welcome to express their views then.
Mrs Lam also stressed that the students’ request to restart the reform process was impracticable.
The Chief Secretary noted that most Hong Kong people wish for the occupation to end and called on the protesters to retreat.
