*
Hong Kong Police

A 52-year-old taxi driver has died and eight people on a bus were injured in a Tai Po accident early this morning.

Just before 1am, the taxi was travelling along Kwong Fuk Road towards Tai Po Town Centre when it collided with the bus at the junction of Nam Wan Road.

The bus then crashed into the roadside railings, and the taxi collided with two other taxis and a public light bus, which were stopped at the junction on Nam Wan Road near Tai Po Market Railway Station.

The taxi driver was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 5.50pm. Seven men and a woman, aged 23 to 59, including the 52-year-old bus driver, were injured and sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.

Anyone who saw the accident is urged to contact Police on 3661 3800.
