3 arrested for corporate piracy

Customs officers have arrested three men and seized 75 computers installed with pirated software.

 

Officers raided a computer equipment trading company in Tai Kok Tsui September 16 and found 22 computers installed with infringing software worth $130,000. Two managers, aged 39 and 50, were arrested.

 

Customs raided an aluminum engineering company in Chai Wan the next day and found 53 computers with infringing software worth $200,000. A 33-year-old company manager was arrested.
