*
Hong Kong Police

Police officers issued 13 fixed-penalty tickets and seven summonses to drivers during a three-day operation against overloaded goods vehicles in the northern New Territories September 14 to 16.

On the first day of the operation officers distributed leaflets to drivers at boundary checkpoints, landfills and industrial areas reminding them of the importance of safe driving, maintaining vehicles in good condition and safe loading.

Enforcement action was taken over the remaining days. Fifteen verbal warnings, 13 fixed-penalty tickets and seven summonses were issued. A driver was also arrested for driving while disqualified and driving without third party insurance.
