Woman charged for keeping live poultry

Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department

A woman has been charged for keeping 12 live chickens in her house at Tsat Sing Kong Tsuen, Pat Heung.

 

The chickens were seized and taken to the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department's animal management centre in Sheung Shui, tested and put down.

 

A ban on backyard poultry has been in force since 2006 to protect public health and reduce the risk of an avian influenza outbreak in Hong Kong. To report illegal poultry keeping call 1823.
