New members join company law committee

*

The Financial Secretary has appointed four new members to the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform for a two-year term starting February 1. They are Chew Fook-aun, Goo Say-hak, Johnson Kong and Catherine Morley.

Incumbent Chairman Benjamin Yu and five other non-official members - David Stannard, Teresa Ko, Godfrey Lam, Paul Winkelmann and Patrick Wong - have been reappointed for up to two years.

With the professional background and expertise of its members, the committee will work to maintain Hong Kong's position as an international business and financial centre, well-supported by companies legislation of an international standard and responsive to the needs of the business community.

The Government thanked the four outgoing members - John Poon, Vanessa Stott, Carlson Tong and Felix Chan - for their contributions.
