Rogue smoker gets community service order

*
Department of Health

A 64-year-old man has been sentenced to 120 hours' community service for intimidating Tobacco Control Inspectors and possessing offensive weapons.

The order was issued at Kwun Tong Magistracy today.

He was found smoking in a non-smoking area by inspectors in Wong Tai Sin Lok Fu Shopping Centre on October 31. He refused to co-operate with the officers when asked to provide his personal particulars, and intimidated them with a knife.

He was also fined $1,000 for the smoking offence.
