175 tickets issued in traffic-day blitz

Police issued 175 fixed penalty tickets and 180 summonses to motorists and pedestrians for violating traffic regulations during a Kowloon East crackdown.

 

Starting from 11pm yesterday, 163 officers were sent to enforce regulations at traffic accident blackspots the region. They gave verbal warnings to 211 pedestrians and six drivers for minor traffic offences, and issued 139 fixed penalty tickets for illegal parking.

 

There were 1,459 traffic accidents in which people were injured in the region from January to September this year.
